BSNL New Logo and 7 New Services

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has unveiled a new logo, symbolizing its commitment to “Connecting Bharat – Securely, Affordably, and Reliably.” During an event in New Delhi, Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia also introduced seven new services aimed at enhancing connectivity, security, and user convenience.

Key BSNL Service Launches

BSNL, in collaboration with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), has launched low-latency 5G connectivity for mining operations, using Made-in-India equipment—a step forward in India’s journey toward technological self-reliance.

In addition to its advancements in 5G, BSNL has developed its own 4G telecom infrastructure to ensure a smooth transition to 5G. As part of its new offerings, BSNL has introduced a spam-blocking feature to automatically detect and filter out phishing and malicious SMS.

Other notable launches include Wi-Fi roaming, allowing subscribers to seamlessly connect to any BSNL FTTH Wi-Fi network while traveling, and fiber-based live TV, offering FTTH users access to over 500 premium TV channels.

BSNL also debuted automated SIM kiosks, which allow users to buy, upgrade, port, or replace SIM cards 24/7. These kiosks feature digital payment options and streamlined KYC integration for ease of use across all regions.

Satellite-to-Device Connectivity

A groundbreaking addition to BSNL’s services is India’s first satellite-to-device connectivity for SMS, enabling communication across land, air, and sea. This innovative solution, combining satellite and terrestrial networks, ensures reliable communication in remote areas and during emergencies. It also supports UPI payments in low-coverage zones, marking a major leap in financial accessibility. BSNL further introduced a unified disaster management network to aid in emergency response.

Minister’s Remarks

During the launch, Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia highlighted BSNL’s critical role in India’s telecom landscape, stating:

“BSNL represents the aspirations, dreams, and expectations of every Indian. Its new logo stands for strength, trust, and accessibility.”

Scindia also noted BSNL’s rapid growth since the 4G rollout, with its subscriber base expanding from 7.5 million to 18 million in just six months. He emphasized that India is one of only six countries worldwide to develop its own 4G telecom network, which will soon transition to 5G.

BSNL plans to establish 100,000 4G sites by mid-2025, positioning itself at the forefront of technological innovation in India’s telecom sector.
