Indian Army and Bharti Airtel Partner to Boost Mobile Connectivity in Arunachal Pradesh’s Border Districts

Summary:
The Indian Army’s DAO Division has signed an MoU with Bharti Airtel to expand the mobile network infrastructure in Dibang Valley and Dau Delai Valley of Anjaw of Arunachal Pradesh, to ensure reliable communication for both local communities and soldiers. The objective of this initiative is to bridge digital division, improve security and support socio-economic development in these strategically important but remote areas. 

The cooperation between the Indian Army and Bharti Airtel is a strategic move to increase the telecom connectivity in further areas of Arunachal Pradesh, where there is a long-term obstruction of reliable communication in the difficult terrain. By strengthening network coverage in Dibang Valley and Dau Delai Valley of Anjaw, the initiative will directly benefit the local residents and armed forces personnel posted in these border areas. 

According to Defense Pro Lieutenant Colonel Mahendra Rawat, the agreement is an important step in bridge the digital divide, as better connectivity will not only empower the soldiers of India protecting the frontiers of India, but will also provide access to the locals better education, healthcare, e-government and entrepreneurship opportunities. 

Officials highlighted that reliable communication infrastructure in such districts would play a dual role, boost military communication and drive through regional development. By bringing digital services in distance communities for National Security. 

Bharti Airtel confirmed its commitment to expand the tele-connectivity for India’s remote areas, combining the government’s Digital India Vision. The joint effort underlines a long-term resolution to remove geographical challenges, modernize infrastructure and create similar digital opportunities in far-flung border areas of India.
