Vodafone Idea Collaborates with HCLSoftware to Automate 4G and 5G Networks

Vodafone Idea (Vi) has teamed up with HCLSoftware to enhance the performance of its 4G and 5G networks. Leveraging HCL Augmented Network Automation (HCL ANA), a multi-vendor self-optimizing network (MV-SON) platform, Vi aims to optimize its Ericsson and Samsung networks. This initiative focuses on improving network performance, conserving energy, and delivering superior services to its customers, the company stated.

The HCL ANA platform employs Artificial Intelligence (AI) to manage Vi’s intricate multi-vendor, multi-technology, and multi-layered network, ensuring seamless integration and efficient operations. The platform’s SMO readiness (ORAN compatibility) makes it a future-proof investment.

With an open architecture, the HCL ANA platform empowers Vi to independently manage and automate its network, reducing reliance on OEM-specific features and applications. It also enhances energy efficiency, lowering costs and supporting sustainability goals. For customers, this means faster, more reliable network experiences.

Jagbir Singh, Chief Technology Officer at Vodafone Idea, remarked, “Our partnership with HCLSoftware marks a significant advancement for Vodafone Idea. The AI-powered HCL ANA platform will simplify our network operations and deliver an exceptional network experience to our customers. This collaboration underscores Vi’s commitment to adopting cutting-edge, Made-in-India technologies to improve services, cut costs, and prepare for the future of telecom innovation.”
