Vodafone Idea Unveils AI-Driven Solutions at IMC 2024

Vodafone Idea (Vi) is unveiling a range of solutions designed to revolutionize industries and enhance daily experiences through 5G and Internet of Things (IoT) technology at the opening day of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2024. This year’s IMC theme, “The Future is Now,” aligns with Vi’s mission to deliver immediate, technology-driven solutions. The company’s presentation, titled “Future is Live,” highlights how these innovations are transforming the way people and businesses connect, work, and live.

Ready for Next Program

A key focus is the ‘Ready for Next’ program, launched in 2022, which offers free Digital Advisory Services to small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This initiative has collaborated with 160,000 MSMEs across 16 sectors, aiming to bridge the digital divide and providing insights through the Digital Maturity Index derived from its 2024 Growth Insights Study.

Clinic in a Bag

Vi is also showcasing its “Clinic in a Bag” solution, enabling doctors to assess and evaluate patients in real time, irrespective of their location. This addresses the shortage of specialists and equipment in remote areas. During the event, Vi demonstrated this solution with live feeds from a health camp in a village in Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh. Real-time diagnostic reports are sent over Vi’s high-speed network to doctors worldwide, facilitating informed consultations via video calls.

The solution is capable of conducting over 30 Point of Care medical tests—including vital signs, cardiac and pulmonary function tests, blood tests, and screenings—offering a cost-effective option at under Rs 250. This benefits millions in rural India who struggle to access primary healthcare facilities.

Akshaya Moondra, CEO of Vi, stated, “The solutions we are showcasing at the IMC are crafted to create a tangible impact and reflect our commitment to making the future a reality today by fostering a more connected and efficient world for everyone.”

360-Degree Immersive Dome

Attendees can immerse themselves in a 360-degree dome experience that transports them to the ancient underwater city of Dwarka. Additionally, a live performance features musicians performing in sync, with some artists connected remotely over Vi’s low-latency network.

LIVE eSports Tournament

Vi is hosting a live eSports tournament, allowing gamers to compete not only against each other but also alongside some of India’s top gaming influencers, including Live Insaan and Rachitroo.

Smart Mines and AI Integration

In the context of Industry 4.0, Vi is presenting solutions that integrate 5G, IoT, AI, and Machine Learning, demonstrated through a simulated Smart Mine with real-time monitoring capabilities.

AI-Powered Hybrid SD-WAN

Vi is also showcasing its Hybrid SD-WAN, now enhanced with AI-driven security features designed to bolster cyber threat protection for Indian enterprises.

AI-Driven CPaaS and CCaaS Solutions

Finally, in the realms of CPaaS and CCaaS, Vi is illustrating how businesses can harness AI to improve customer interactions and streamline operations.
