DoT Launches Initiative to Boost Industry 4.0 Adoption Among MSMEs

The Telecom Sector of Excellence (TCoE) India, representing DoT, is seeking proposals from organizations and startups to develop a comprehensive baseline survey for the MSME sector in India. The focus of this survey will be on Digital Transformation through 5G Technologies and their impact. With the manufacturing industry experiencing a significant shift due to Industry 4.0, integrating advanced technologies like artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), and cloud computing is becoming essential for enhancing efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness.

Objectives of the Survey

The primary goal of the survey is to understand the challenges faced by MSMEs in adapting to Industry 4.0 and leveraging advanced technologies. – Identify sector-specific needs and preferences across at least 10 sectors, acknowledging the diverse MSME landscape.

– Offer tailored support to encourage innovation and competitiveness.

– Address immediate obstacles to digital transformation

– Facilitate the transition to cyber-physical systems through seamless integration of suitable sensors using 5G/6G technologies.

Survey Details

The survey, spanning 60 days, will cover five sectors each in the northern and southern regions of India. The resulting key recommendations will serve as the foundation for policy interventions aimed at facilitating the widespread adoption of Industry 4.0, ultimately enhancing the competitive positioning and survival prospects of MSMEs.

Call for Participation

Organizations and startups interested in participating in this transformative survey are invited to submit their proposals by June 11, 2024.
