Tejas Networks Actively Looking for 4G, 5G Upgradation

Summary:
Tejas Networks, backed by the Tata Group, is rapidly expanding globally as its indigenous 4G/5G stack gains strong interest from international operators. The company is conducting proof-of-concept trials across Asia and Africa, and at least one major South Asian operator is expected to move to commercial deployment soon. Tejas’ success in India—especially BSNL’s massive 4G rollout—has become a key reference point for global expansion.

Tejas Networks is strengthening India’s global telecom footprint by advancing 4G and 5G PoC trials in multiple countries, including Japan, Tanzania, Uganda, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka. In simple terms, the company’s indigenous RAN technology is now being seriously evaluated by international mobile operators—and at least one major operator in South Asia is close to signing a commercial deal. This marks a major milestone for India-made telecom solutions entering global markets.

The company already provides equipment to Bhutan Telecom, highlighting early adoption outside India. Tejas Networks expects that its large-scale deployments in India—especially the BSNL 4G rollout covering over 97,000 sites, will serve as powerful global proof of capability. International operators are increasingly looking for trusted, Non-Chinese suppliers, creating a strong opportunity window for Tejas.

Strategic partnerships have amplified this momentum. Collaborations with NEC Corporation for advanced radio and core networks, and Rakuten Symphony for cloud-native RAN software, have elevated Tejas’ credibility worldwide. Additionally, markets such as the US, Western Europe, Australia, and Japan are actively seeking reliable telecom vendors, especially with FCC’s “rip-and-replace” initiative accelerating the need for secure alternatives.

As part of the TCS consortium, Tejas developed and deployed India’s first fully indigenous 4G-5G RAN, and the company continues to invest heavily in next-gen technologies including 5G Advanced, 6G R&D, and contributions to global standards bodies.

Tejas’ long-term growth is supported by powerful market fundamentals—rising global data usage, broadband expansion, and India’s manufacturing push. With nearly 600 patents, strong research collaborations, and a deep product portfolio ranging from advanced radios to DWDM systems, Tejas Networks is well positioned to ride the rising demand for India-origin telecom solutions worldwide.
