BSNL Sets Up 97,500 Towers for Swadeshi 4G Service

Summary:
BSNL has officially launched its indigenous 4G network, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. The rollout includes more than 97,500 towers built at a cost of Rs 37,000 crore, which is a significant step in India’s efforts for telecom self-reliance.

BSNL’s 4G Revival

After years of struggling against private telecom giants, BSNL focuses on the deployment of 97500 indigenous 4G sites across India. This step is aligned with BSNL’s silver jubilee to modernize its network and strengthens its role in digital growth of India. Unlike private players, BSNL has consistently expanded connectivity to the underserved regions, following it to furthur years for more development.

Green Telecom Push

A large portion of BSNL’s new towers is powered by solar, making it the largest cluster of green telecom sites. This focuses on durability and helps reduce operational costs, ensuring reliable service in areas with a weak electricity supply.

Aligned with Digital Bharat Nidhi

The rollout supports Digital Bharat Nidhi initiative, targeting full 4G saturation. Along with this project, BSNL will expand its digital connectivity to 30,000 villages.

The launch of BSNL’s swadeshi 4G network is a top moment for the company and the telecom sector of India. By combining indigenous tech, sustainable infra and rural connectivity, BSNL is defining itself to play a crucial role in the creation of India self-reliance and digitization.
