BSNL Earns Rs 262 Crore Profit in Q3

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has reported a profit of ₹262 crore in the third quarter of the financial year, marking its first return to profitability since 2007. This turnaround is driven by aggressive network expansion, customer additions, and cost optimization measures.   

“We are pleased with our financial performance this quarter, reflecting our commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, and network expansion. With these efforts, we anticipate revenue growth exceeding 20% by the end of the financial year,” said A. Robert J. Ravi, CMD, BSNL.   

Ravi emphasized that BSNL’s resurgence highlights its long-term sustainability. The company has reduced finance costs and overall expenditure, resulting in a decline in losses by over ₹1,800 crore compared to last year.   

BSNL reported a 15% rise in mobility services revenue, an 18% increase in Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) revenue, and a 14% growth in leased line services compared to Q3 of the previous year. To enhance customer experience, BSNL introduced innovations such as National WiFi Roaming, BiTV – Free Entertainment for Mobile Customers, and IFTV for all FTTH users.   

“Our continuous focus on quality service and assurance has further strengthened customer trust and reinforced BSNL’s position as a leading telecom service provider in India,” Ravi added. The company remains committed to service excellence, 5G readiness, and digital transformation to maintain its competitive edge.   

BSNL’s financial recovery underscores its dedication to providing high-quality, affordable telecom services while contributing to India’s digital growth. The company continues to focus on expanding its customer base and supporting the Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.   

In a further boost to BSNL’s expansion, the Union Cabinet recently approved a financial package of approximately ₹6,000 crore to accelerate the 4G network rollout for BSNL and MTNL. As part of the plan, around one lakh 4G sites will be set up to enhance connectivity and improve network services nationwide.
