AirTrunk has completed its acquisition of Lumina CloudInfra, marking its entry into India’s fast-growing digital and AI infrastructure market. The deal gives AirTrunk access to Lumina’s development pipeline, customer contracts, and operational strengths, including about 600 MW of planned capacity with significant future investment potential. Backed by Blackstone and CPPIB, Lumina operates across Mumbai, Chennai, and Hyderabad with a focus on AI-ready, energy-efficient data centres. With this move, AirTrunk’s total capacity will exceed 3 GW across 20 campuses in six Asia-Pacific markets, including India.

AirTrunk, a hyperscale data centre operator in the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions, has completed the acquisition of Lumina CloudInfra. This move represents its expansion into one of the world’s most rapidly expanding markets for digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence (AI).

According to AirTrunk, the acquisition provides immediate access to Lumina’s existing development pipeline, active customer agreements, and established operational expertise. The portfolio includes a planned capacity of around 600 megawatts, which could translate into up to $5 billion in potential future development. The platform will continue to be backed by long-term funding from Blackstone and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB).

Lumina operates as a data centre platform in India, with a presence in three major tier-1 cities: Mumbai, Chennai, and Hyderabad. The company contributes strong delivery capabilities, an ongoing development pipeline, and a strategic emphasis on energy-efficient, AI-ready infrastructure. With this acquisition, AirTrunk is set to expand its total footprint to over 3 gigawatts of both operational and planned capacity across 20 campuses in six markets, including Australia, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and India.
