Vodafone Idea 5G Launched in Chandigarh and Patna

Vodafone Idea (Vi) users in Chandigarh and Patna with 5G-enabled devices can start experiencing 5G services from April 28, 2025, as the company officially announced the rollout in these cities.

Vi Collaborates with Samsung for 5G Expansion

To support the 5G network deployment in Chandigarh and Patna, Vi has partnered with Samsung, utilizing energy-efficient infrastructure and vRAN (virtualized Radio Access Network) technology to enhance network performance and flexibility. Additionally, the company has implemented an AI-driven Self-Organizing Network (SON) system to further optimize network operations.

Continued 5G Expansion Across India

The latest rollout follows Vi’s 5G launch in Mumbai in March, where over 70% of eligible users are now experiencing Vi 5G services, contributing to nearly 20% of the network’s total data traffic. As part of its ongoing 5G expansion, Vi plans to extend services to Delhi and Bengaluru in May.

To attract users, Vi is offering unlimited 5G data as part of an introductory offer on plans starting from ₹299. Customers can enjoy high-speed connectivity for activities such as video streaming, online gaming, video conferencing, fast downloads, and real-time cloud access. Vi emphasized that the 5G rollout will continue to align with the growth in 5G device penetration and rising demand for next-gen services.

Building a Future-Ready Digital Network

“Vi is committed to delivering a future-ready network that is seamless, powerful, and capable of meeting the evolving demands of modern connectivity,” the company said in a statement. “By expanding our 5G infrastructure, we aim to empower millions of consumers and businesses, transforming India’s digital landscape with advanced mobile applications and services.”
