TRAI Launches Its Revamped Website

TRAI has launched an upgraded website designed to connect with a wider audience and enhance public engagement. Recognizing the increasing role of social media, the new site includes sharing features to disseminate regulatory information more effectively among stakeholders. It provides comprehensive resources on telecom and broadcasting regulations, policies, laws, statistics, and trends in India, making them easily accessible to the public, stakeholders, researchers, and international audiences.

The revamped platform offers several new features, including a dashboard for the telecom and broadcasting sectors, data download options for research, and an interactive grid view for better data visualization. Users can now share documents through major social media platforms like Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Facebook, and X, alongside traditional email sharing. Additional features include online registration for updates, a blog with a comment feature for registered users, and a section for publishing upcoming events.

The website supports online participation in Open House Discussions, complies with accessibility standards, and provides concise regulations with amendments listed in footnotes. It also hosts tenders and notices, features a profile of the Authority, and introduces a chatbot, “TARA” (Telecom Authority Responsive Advisor), for interactive searches. Compatible with iOS, Android, and various platforms, the site is hosted on the NIC Cloud, with the previous website running concurrently for three months post-launch. These advancements aim to improve transparency, accessibility, and stakeholder engagement in TRAI’s regulatory initiatives for the telecom and broadcasting sectors.
