Starlink Broadband India Faces Delay

The introduction of Starlink, Elon Musk’s satellite broadband service, in India may encounter delays due to the need to obtain approvals from national security agencies and India’s Ministry of Home Affairs. These additional approvals are required in addition to the necessary nods from IN-SPACe (Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre) and the Telecom Department.

While Starlink has already secured commercial permissions, the process has been stalled due to security concerns. Despite reportedly receiving internal approval from the Indian Telecom Department, the final clearance is pending.
