Mahakumbh 2025 News- BSNL Give Free SIMs to Enhance Connectivity

Under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is playing a crucial role in strengthening the communication infrastructure at Mahakumbh 2025, ensuring seamless connectivity for millions of pilgrims. To enhance on-ground support, BSNL has set up a dedicated customer service center in the Mela area, offering on-site assistance, complaint resolution, and uninterrupted communication services.

To facilitate hassle-free connectivity, BSNL is providing free SIM cards to pilgrims from different states. In case of loss or damage, pilgrims need not return to their home state, as BSNL has arranged for SIM cards from all circles nationwide to be available in the Mela area. This service is completely free, allowing devotees to stay connected with their families without any inconvenience. Additionally, a camp office has been established at Lal Road Sector-2 to oversee all communication services.

The demand for fiber connections, leased lines, and mobile recharges has surged in the Kumbh region. Keeping public convenience in mind, SIM cards from various states are readily available, benefiting not just pilgrims but also security personnel stationed at the event. BSNL’s Chief General Manager for the Prayagraj commercial area, Shri B.K. Singh, highlighted that during the Amrit Snans on Makar Sankranti and Mauni Amavasya, the network remained stable despite the heavy footfall, ensuring uninterrupted communication.

To support the massive influx of visitors, BSNL has deployed 90 BTS towers across the Mela area. These include 30 BTS (700 MHz 4G band), 30 BTS (2100 MHz band), and 30 BTS (2G-enabled) to provide robust network coverage. Additionally, high-speed internet services such as FTTH, Wi-Fi hotspots, internet leased lines, SD-WAN, bulk SMS services, M2M SIMs, satellite phone services, and webcasting have been made available.

Through these initiatives, BSNL is ensuring reliable and efficient communication for pilgrims, administrative authorities, security forces, and volunteers, contributing to the smooth execution of Mahakumbh 2025.
