Bharat 6G Mission Reviewed by MoS

Minister of State for Communications, Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, recently chaired a high-level review meeting on the Bharat 6G Mission, a flagship initiative aimed at developing indigenous 6G technology and establishing India’s leadership in next-generation telecommunications. 

During the meeting, the Minister assessed the progress of over 100 funded R&D proposals, India’s role in shaping global 6G standards, and collaborations with academic and industry stakeholders. He also reviewed timelines for development and deployment, and discussed challenges faced by researchers and innovators in the ecosystem. 

Dr. Pemmasani highlighted the mission’s critical role in achieving technological self-reliance, enhancing digital infrastructure, and building on the momentum of India’s 5G rollout. He reiterated the government’s commitment to making India a global hub for telecom innovation, stating 

“Chaired a review meeting on Bharat 6G Mission to ensure our efforts are outcome-oriented. Discussed India’s role in global 6G standard-setting, progress of 100+ R&D projects, and challenges innovators face. Under Hon’ble PM ji’s leadership, we’re committed to securing India’s technological sovereignty through 6G innovation.” 

The Bharat 6G Mission stands as a key pillar in India’s long-term digital strategy and underscores its ambition to lead the global telecom evolution.
