Airtel Collaborates with KIA India for Enhanced Car Experience

Kia India has formed a strategic partnership with Airtel Business, the B2B arm of Bharti Airtel, to enhance its Kia Connect 2.0 platform, aiming to revolutionize the connected car experience in India. This collaboration centers on five key areas: Vehicle Management, AI Voice Command, Convenience, Remote Control, and Safety, Security, and Navigation. Airtel’s nationwide communications network will power real-time connectivity for all Kia’s connected car models, ensuring seamless data transfer, according to an Airtel Business announcement on Tuesday. 

Enhancing the Connected Car Experience 

Airtel will provide a robust communications network to ensure uninterrupted real-time connectivity across all of Kia’s connected car variants. This partnership also introduces Over-the-Air (OTA) diagnostics, moving toward the future of Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs), with IoT technology playing a central role in Kia’s offerings. 

Kia India commented, “As part of our 2.0 transition, we are rolling out OTA Kia Connect Diagnostics, unlocking the potential of Software-Defined Vehicles, where IoT technology becomes core to our offerings. We’re excited to partner with Airtel Business, whose future-ready solutions will integrate seamlessly with our vehicles, ensuring strong data security and privacy.” 

Kia further stated, “Airtel’s extensive network will elevate the customer experience Kia is known for, delivering global technologies customized for Indian consumers. This collaboration will empower Kia vehicle owners with advanced analytics and real-time insights, providing essential metrics.” 

Airtel Business added, “We are excited to power Kia’s connected cars with our advanced technology solutions, offering efficient and effective capabilities. Our commitment is to support India’s digital growth with our cutting-edge IoT Hub, providing tailored solutions for the unique IoT needs of enterprises across 5G, 4G, NB-IoT, 2G, and satellite.” 

Airtel IoT Platform Features 

The partnership includes the Airtel IoT Hub, which provides analytics and real-time insights. Airtel’s advanced IoT solutions will support both internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and electric vehicles (EVs). 

Airtel added, “We’ll ensure complete data privacy and security for connected vehicles, while simplifying and automating operations throughout vehicle production and management.” 

Key features of Airtel’s IoT platform for connected vehicles include: 

1. Seamless connectivity for both ICE and EV models. 

2. Enhanced safety features, such as SOS emergency calling. 

3. Customized data plans tailored to vehicle needs. 

4. Device health monitoring and Firmware Over-the-Air (FOTA) updates. 

Additional platform features include support for telematics and infotainment, eSIMs for “connected-at-birth” vehicles, and end-to-end support with real-time monitoring, ensuring data privacy and compliance.
