BSNL 4G Rollout Status- 15,000 BSNL 4G sites to be Completed

State-owned telecommunications company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in India has announced the completion of over 15,000 4G sites under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. This achievement was shared on X (formerly Twitter), with BSNL stating, “4G for Every Indian.”

BSNL 5G SIM Card and Its Capabilities

The Department of Telecommunications also showcased BSNL’s 5G Ready SIM card, indicating the imminent launch of services using home-grown technology by the National Operator. Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia recently tested BSNL’s 5G-enabled phone call at the CDOT campus in Delhi, reviewing the company’s 5G capabilities.

BSNL Promotes Affordable Tariffs

In response to recent telecom tariff hikes by private operators, BSNL has been promoting its affordable tariffs, encouraging users to switch to its network. The company is running various campaigns to facilitate the porting process from other operators and is urging users to upgrade their 2G/3G SIM cards to 4G-enabled SIM cards for free. Additionally, BSNL is offering 4GB of free data to users in areas where high-speed 4G services are available.

BSNL 4G Future Plans

This milestone follows BSNL’s earlier announcement of building 10,000 4G sites in early July 2024. The state-run telecom operator plans to deploy a total of 80,000 towers, with the remaining 21,000 sites expected to be completed by March next year, aiming to roll out 4G across over 100,000 sites.
