Vodafone Idea (Vi), India’s third-largest wireless operator, has been recognized as the leading provider of 4G network performance in the country, as per Opensignal’s November 2024 4G Network Experience Report. The analysis, conducted between June 1 and August 29, 2024, evaluated the performance of Vi, Airtel, Jio, and BSNL across six critical metrics.

Vi’s Dominance in 4G Network Performance

Vi achieved outright leadership in all six performance categories: 4G Download Speed, 4G Upload Speed, 4G Video Experience, 4G Live Video Experience, 4G Games Experience, and 4G Voice App Experience. This highlights Vi’s ability to deliver high-quality services for activities like streaming, gaming, and OTT voice applications.

Regional Achievements

Vi also led in 21 telecom circles, securing nearly 80% of awards, either independently or shared. It achieved a complete victory across six circles: Assam, Haryana, Karnataka, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal.

Superior Speeds and Video Experience

The report noted Vi’s top average 4G download speed of 17.4 Mbps, outpacing Airtel by 8% and Jio by 22%. Vi also excelled in 4G upload speeds and on-demand video streaming quality, leading in 17 telecom circles.

Despite financial challenges and delayed 5G rollout compared to Jio and Airtel, Vi’s optimized 4G network continues to provide a competitive and resilient user experience, underscoring its commitment to delivering premium connectivity across India.
