Vodafone Idea Q2FY26 Results- Company Reports Rs 5525 Crore Net Loss

Vodafone Idea Reports Narrowed Loss in Q2 FY26, Shows Signs of Recovery 

Vodafone Idea (Vi) posted a net loss of ₹5,525 crore for Q2 FY26 (July–September), its smallest loss in five quarters, signaling better cost management and improving operational efficiency. The company’s revenue from operations remained steady at ₹11,194 crore, while lower interest and finance expenses contributed to the reduced loss. 

Key Highlights – Vodafone Idea Q2 FY26 Results 

  • Subscriber Metrics: Vi’s total subscriber base fell slightly to 196.7 million from 197.7 million in the previous quarter. However, postpaid users rose to 27.9 million, and 4G/5G users increased to 127.8 million, indicating strong retention in premium segments. 
  • ARPU and Churn: The Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) improved to ₹180 from ₹177 QoQ. Meanwhile, the churn rate increased marginally from 4.1% to 4.3%, suggesting some competitive pressure. 
  • Network Expansion: Vi expanded its 4G population coverage to 84.4%, up from 78.8%. The telco added 1,500 new 4G towers, with total broadband sites reaching 527,000. It also deployed 13,000+ massive MIMO sites and 12,400+ small cells to enhance capacity and speed. 
  • Financial Position: The capex stood at ₹17.5 billion for the quarter, with bank debt reduced to ₹15.3 billion and cash reserves at ₹30.8 billion, indicating tighter fiscal control. 

Vodafone Idea’s focus on expanding 4G and introducing early 5G services continues despite funding challenges. With ongoing cost optimization, improved ARPU, and selective capex, the company appears to be gradually strengthening its business fundamentals. Vi also plans to deploy around 12 million smart metering solutions over the next three years, aligning with India’s digital infrastructure goals.
