Tejas Networks secures contract from NEC Corporation to produce and deliver 5G massive MIMO radio equipment

India-based Tejas Networks has secured a contract from Japan’s NEC Corporation to produce and deliver 5G massive MIMO radio equipment. The companies have not revealed the financial details of the deal.

Masayuki Kayahara, corporate senior vice president of the global network division at NEC Corporation, stated that this development strengthens the ongoing collaboration with Tejas Networks in the field of 5G massive MIMO radios, while also supporting supply chain diversification to reduce risks for customers by fostering a resilient and flexible global ecosystem.

Arnob Roy, chief operating officer and executive director of Tejas Networks, noted that the partnership with NEC will drive advancements in wireless technology by combining their strengths in developing carrier-grade solutions for telecom operators worldwide. He further mentioned that Tejas will continue working closely with NEC to jointly develop 5G and 5G-Advanced technologies.

Sanjay Malik, chief strategy and business officer of Tejas Networks, expressed satisfaction with securing the contract alongside NEC, highlighting the company’s plans to expand its international presence. He added that Tejas aims to build on this achievement across both emerging and developed markets in 4G and 5G networks.

Tejas Networks is a prominent provider of mobility solutions, offering a broad portfolio of 4G and 5G radio access network products, including high-capacity 32TR and 64TR massive MIMO radios that adhere to 3GPP and O-RAN standards.
