Vodafone Idea Launches IoT Innovation Lab in Mumbai

A new IoT Innovation Lab has been launched in Mumbai to accelerate digital transformations led by an enterprise in the Vodafone Idea (Vi) business. The lab will enable businesses, startups and device manufacturers to test and scale IoT solutions in areas such as smart cities, connected vehicles, manufacturing, logistics, BFSI and healthcare. Supported by standardization for global cloud capabilities and collaboration with C-DOT for AWS, Lab is set to play a major role in India’s fast-growing IoT market. 

Vi Business IoT Lab – A Hub for Innovation 

The IoT lab will serve as a co-producing hub where the enterprise can test the cases of IoT use of the next pay generation. 5G, AI and IoT technologies provide a platform for the deployment of enterprise automation, government solutions and smart cities. 

Strategic Collaborations with C-DoT and AWS 

To strengthen the initiative, the C-DOT will ensure standardization by giving the benefit of an M2M IoT standards, which has now been adopted as the national standard of India. Meanwhile, AWS will provide its clouds and AI capabilities to help accelerate the development of the product, reduce costs and improve efficiency.

According to Vi, IoT lab will assist startups, IT/ITES firms, utilities, retail and healthcare providers scalable, industry-grade IoT applications. The move aligns with a comprehensive approach to becoming a global center for India’s telecom-led digital innovation.
