Vodafone Idea’s latest plea urges the DoT to reassess and reconcile all AGR dues up to FY 2016–17, in accordance with the Deduction Verification Guidelines issued on February 3, 2020. The company argues that several charges were inaccurately computed and that the reassessment is critical for financial clarity.
Earlier, the government had suggested continuous discussions with the company to explore a resolution route for long-standing AGR liabilities, with significant stress in the Vi balance sheet.
Market Reaction
Following the deferment, Vodafone Idea’s stock dropped 3.65% intraday to ₹8.71, reflecting investor concerns over delayed clarity on the AGR issue. The telco remains under pressure to raise funds, strengthen its network, and maintain operations while awaiting a legal resolution.
