The Online Certification Approval System introduced by the Telecom Engineering Centre

On Friday, AK Sahu, a Member of the Digital Communication Commission (DCC), officially launched the online modules for the Certificate of Approval (CoA) and Technology Approval under the voluntary certification scheme of the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC). TEC serves as the technical arm of the Department of Telecommunications (DOT). The introduction of these online modules follows the earlier operationalization of online modules for Type/Interface approval on July 7, 2023, which were inaugurated by the Secretary (T) and Chairman of DCC. This collective initiative represents a significant stride in simplifying the testing and certification processes, ultimately creating a conducive environment for telecom start-ups and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) within the ICT sector.

The streamlined online modules offer a user-friendly platform for applying and processing various certificates related to voluntary testing and certification. This includes type approval certificates, interface approval certificates, Certificate of Approval (CoA), and technology approval certificates. The move is expected to have positive implications for start-ups and MSMEs operating in the telecom sector, allowing them to obtain these certificates for their products. This, in turn, enhances the credibility of their offerings in the industry. The Ministry emphasized the seamless application and processing capabilities of the online module, reinforcing its commitment to facilitating a more accessible and efficient certification process for stakeholders in the telecommunications and related ICT domains.
