Summary:
Tech Mahindra has partnered with Microsoft to launch an AI-powered network digital twin platform that helps telecom operators modernise network operations, improve service quality, and maximise 5G revenue opportunities. Built using Microsoft Azure, Fabric, Azure Digital Twins, and advanced AI technologies, the solution enables real-time network intelligence, predictive analytics, automated decision-making, and autonomous operations. The collaboration aims to enhance operational efficiency, optimise infrastructure investments, accelerate enterprise 5G services, and support innovation through a scalable, cloud-based telecom ecosystem.
Tech Mahindra has entered into a partnership with Microsoft to introduce an advanced network digital twin platform aimed at helping communication service providers modernise network management, enhance service quality, and unlock new revenue opportunities from next-generation 5G technologies.
The jointly developed solution combines Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Digital Twins to consolidate large volumes of network telemetry into a real-time, AI-enabled data environment that supports sophisticated simulations and predictive analytics. By incorporating Microsoft Foundry, Fabric IQ, and agentic AI capabilities, the platform delivers intelligent analysis, automated decision-making, and closed-loop network orchestration. It is intended for medium and large telecom operators managing complex, multi-vendor infrastructures while seeking greater operational flexibility and stronger business performance. The solution also enables operators to accelerate enterprise service monetisation by supporting SLA-based offerings such as network slicing and edge orchestration, backed by improved service assurance and proactive risk forecasting.
Speaking about the collaboration, Tech Mahindra’s Chief Transformation Officer said telecom operators are facing mounting challenges as networks become more complex to support advanced enterprise applications and next-generation services. He noted that many providers still rely on reactive operational approaches, resulting in higher costs, limited service visibility, and difficulties in monetising advanced 5G capabilities. By combining digital twin technology with unified data intelligence and agentic AI through its collaboration with Microsoft, Tech Mahindra aims to help operators move towards autonomous network operations, strengthen service assurance, and create new revenue opportunities through AI-powered network innovation.
The platform enables telecom companies to replace traditional network simulation methods with cloud-based digital twins that integrate live telemetry, semantic intelligence, and AI-driven automation. Rather than functioning solely as a visualisation tool, the digital twin becomes an intelligent operational platform capable of making active decisions within live network environments. It also supports informed decision-making throughout the network lifecycle, allowing operators to optimise infrastructure investments, maximise asset utilisation, strengthen governance, and reduce operational costs.
Microsoft’s Senior Global Director of Strategy stated that Tech Mahindra’s AI-powered 5G network digital twin solution brings real-time intelligence to highly complex telecom networks. By combining Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Foundry, and Microsoft Fabric with Tech Mahindra’s telecommunications expertise, operators can transition from conventional monitoring to intelligent, AI-driven decision-making, where agentic AI continuously analyses, simulates, and responds to changing network conditions in real time.
The collaboration further expands Tech Mahindra’s portfolio of AI-driven telecom solutions by leveraging Microsoft’s cloud, data, and artificial intelligence technologies. It is also expected to strengthen customer engagement, support joint go-to-market initiatives, and accelerate innovation. For telecom operators, the integrated platform offers a secure technology ecosystem that enables faster solution deployment, greater operational efficiency, improved service delivery, and new opportunities for business growth.
