Tariff Increase 2026: Airtel Discreetly Raises Rs 859 Plan to Rs 899

Tariff Increase 2026 Airtel Discreetly Raises Rs 859 Plan to Rs 899

Summary:
Airtel has quietly revised its prepaid offerings by discontinuing the Rs 799 plan and increasing the price of its Rs 859 Truly Unlimited plan to Rs 899. The updated plan provides 84 days of validity with unlimited calls, 100 daily SMS, and 1.5GB of data per day, after which speeds are reduced. It also includes benefits like Adobe Express Premium, spam alerts, and free Hellotunes, though the earlier RewardsMini cashback feature appears to have been removed. With this change, the entry-level 84-day daily data plan now starts at Rs 899, followed by a Rs 929 option that offers the same data with a longer 90-day validity.

Airtel has made a subtle change to the pricing of its prepaid plan with an 84-day validity. Earlier, the Rs 700–Rs 800 range included two options—Rs 799 and Rs 859—providing either 1.5GB or 2GB of daily data, along with 77 or 84 days of validity, depending on the user or telecom circle. Now, it seems the Rs 799 plan has been discontinued, and the Rs 859 Truly Unlimited prepaid plan has been increased to Rs 899. Here’s a look at what the updated plan offers.

Airtel Rs 899 Truly Unlimited Plan

The revised Rs 899 prepaid plan from Airtel includes unlimited voice calling (covering local, STD, and roaming), 100 SMS per day, and 1.5GB of data daily, all valid for 84 days. Once the daily data limit is used up, internet speeds drop to up to 64 Kbps.

Under Airtel Rewards, subscribers receive access to Adobe Express Premium for 12 months, spam alerts for incoming calls and messages, and complimentary Hellotunes, allowing one tune change every 30 days without extra charges.

Earlier, the Rs 859 plan also featured a RewardsMini subscription that offered Rs 80 monthly cashback at no additional cost. This benefit now appears to have been removed. Although Airtel has not issued an official statement, these perks are currently not listed on its digital platforms for the Rs 899 plan.

Airtel 84-Day Validity Plans

For those considering Airtel’s 84-day recharge options, the updated structure shows that the base plan with daily data now starts at Rs 899 (1.5GB per day). The next available option is priced at Rs 929, offering the same daily data but extending validity to 90 days.
