Paris Olympics 2024- Recycling 5G for Local Internet Boost in Olympics City

In Paris, athletes are setting records and delivering outstanding performances at the 2024 Summer Games. However, the achievements extend beyond the athletic feats seen around the world. Behind the scenes, 5G infrastructure is crucial for powering live broadcasts and enabling spectators and athletes to share their experiences on social media.

To meet the high demands of global broadcasters, millions of visitors, and the complex operations of the Games, high-speed fiber-optic networks, 5G cellular towers, and advanced WiFi systems have been deployed at 120 sites across Paris.

Events as large and popular as the Olympics require robust and high-capacity networks to broadcast live events to viewers worldwide and support the digital needs of athletes, officials, and spectators.

Rolf Werner, the head of mobile networks in Europe, emphasized that with careful planning, these 5G connectivity investments can be valuable for years to come.
