Optiemus Partners with Tejas Networks for Telecom Equipment Manufacturing

Optiemus Electronics announced its entry into telecom equipment manufacturing, partnering with Tata Group’s Tejas Networks. This move comes as the government intensifies its focus on indigenous design and manufacturing of telecom equipment. Optiemus will collaborate with Tejas Networks to produce a range of telecom products, including 4G baseband units, remote radio heads, ONT/ONU, broadband switches, and routers, all manufactured at its facility in Noida.

“It is a significant milestone as we expand our manufacturing capabilities to enter the rapidly growing telecom equipment industry,” said A Gururaj, MD of Optiemus Electronics. The Indian government has reported that telecom equipment manufactured in India is now being exported to over 100 countries, with exports of telecom equipment and services exceeding $18.2 billion last year.

Several Indian telecom companies have gained a strong foothold in Western markets, including the US, despite intense global competition. Over the past decade, Tejas Networks has emerged as a reliable and trusted partner within the Indian telecom ecosystem.

“In our ongoing commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat, adding Optiemus as one of our manufacturing partners will further boost domestic production of telecom products,” said V Sembian, Chief Supply Chain Officer at Tejas Networks.

Optiemus operates two manufacturing units in Noida. Tejas Networks designs and manufactures high-performance wireline and wireless networking products for telecommunications service providers, internet service providers, utilities, defense, and government entities in over 75 countries.

Recently, the Indian government announced that telecom equipment manufacturing sales have surpassed Rs 50,000 crore under the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme, generating more than 17,800 direct jobs and numerous indirect jobs.
