Mumbai Metro Aqua Line 3 Gets Mobile Network Boost with Airtel and Vi Services

Mobile connectivity has been restored on key sections of Mumbai Metro Aqua Line 3, with Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea resuming voice and data services for commuters. Vi has reactivated its network across 16 stations from Aarey JVLR to Acharya Atre Chowk, while Airtel has restored coverage at 10 stations up to Bandra Kurla Complex. The operators said the move will help passengers stay connected for calls, internet access, digital payments, and other online services during travel. Both companies are also expanding coverage to the remaining Phase 2 stretch between Science Centre and Cuffe Parade, with full connectivity across the entire corridor expected in the coming weeks. 

Mumbai Metro Aqua Line 3 passengers can once again access mobile services from Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) across several stations after connectivity was restored following the resolution of issues involving Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation and ACES Infrastructure. Both telecom operators have resumed voice and data services, enabling commuters to make calls, browse the internet, use digital payment platforms, and stay connected while travelling.

Vodafone Idea has reactivated its network across 16 stations between Aarey JVLR and Acharya Atre Chowk, while Airtel has restored services at 10 stations from Aarey JVLR to Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). The operators highlighted the importance of reliable connectivity for the thousands of daily commuters using the metro corridor.

Network expansion work is also progressing on the remaining stretch of the route. Vi and Airtel confirmed that connectivity across Phase 2, covering stations from Science Centre to Cuffe Parade, will be rolled out in the coming weeks, ultimately ensuring uninterrupted mobile coverage throughout the entire Aqua Line 3 corridor.
