5G International Roaming Soon to be Available, Says Jio

Reliance Jio, India’s largest telecom provider, is now offering unlimited 5G with its prepaid and postpaid plans. Prepaid users can enjoy unlimited 5G with any plan that includes 2GB of daily data or more, while postpaid customers get the benefit with all plans, regardless of cost. Jio’s 5G network is already widely available across India, and the company is working on partnerships with international operators to extend 5G access to customers traveling abroad. However, this service is not yet available.

Jio stated, “5G services will soon be available on International Roaming through partner operators abroad.” The company has deployed 5G Standalone (SA) technology in India, though it’s unclear whether its international partnerships will involve operators using the same technology. This expansion will be a valuable addition for customers needing high-speed connectivity while travelling overseas.

Recently, Jio also introduced new international roaming plans starting at just Rs 39 for users in the USA and Canada, which offers 30 minutes of voice calls over seven days. Additional plans include Rs 49 for Bangladesh, Rs 59 for Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Hong Kong, Rs 69 for Australia and New Zealand, Rs 79 for the UK, Germany, France, and Spain, Rs 89 for China, Japan, and Bhutan, and Rs 99 for the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Kuwait, and Bahrain.

Since the benefits vary by country, it’s advisable to check the specific calling minutes included before subscribing. These new roaming packs are already live, and once Jio’s international 5G roaming is available, its plans will become even more valuable for customers.
