BharatNet Phase 3 News- ITI Ltd Secures Orders Valued at Rs 4,559 Crore

State-owned telecom manufacturer ITI Limited announced on 10th Nov that it has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a BharatNet Phase-3 project covering Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Manipur, with a contract valued at Rs 1,537 crore. Additionally, ITI Limited also secured the lowest bid for projects in Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, with an order value of Rs 3,022 crore. 

With these bids, ITI Limited’s total order value for three BharatNet Phase-3 packages now stands at Rs 4,559 crore, according to a filing with the stock exchanges. 

BharatNet Phase-3 consists of 16 packages spread across all states and union territories. BSNL invited tenders for designing, supplying, constructing, installing, upgrading, operating, and maintaining the middle-mile network of BharatNet Phase-3 under a Design Build Operate and Maintain (DBOM) model. 

Rajesh Rai, Chairman and Managing Director of ITI Limited, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled to have emerged as L1 for the prestigious BharatNet Phase-3 Project in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland & Manipur. This marks a significant milestone for ITI, and my team is eager to deliver excellence.” 

He added, “Securing three major packages in challenging regions like the Andaman and Northeast not only excites us but also presents unique challenges that our team is prepared to meet. ITI Limited brings extensive experience in optical fiber network (OFN) projects across India for defense and BharatNet initiatives.” 

Recently, ITI Limited also won an order from the Bihar Renewable Energy Development Authority (BREDA) to supply and install 100,000 solar street light systems for the Bihar government, valued at Rs 300 crore. 

ITI Limited operates manufacturing facilities in six locations — Bengaluru, Naini, Raebareli, Mankapur, Srinagar, and Palakkad — along with an in-house R&D center in Bengaluru and offices for marketing, sales, and projects across India.
