Intra Roaming Circle Packs Launched by Jio for BSNL Network Connectivity

Summary:
Reliance Jio has introduced Intra Circle Roaming (ICR) packs that allow its prepaid users to seamlessly connect to the BSNL network in select regions. The service ensures uninterrupted connectivity for voice, data, and SMS within the same telecom circle—beginning with the Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh (MP & CG) circle.

Jio Launches ICR Packs to Enable BSNL Network Access in Select Circles

Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) has launched new Intra Circle Roaming (ICR) packs that let prepaid users access the BSNL network for calling, messaging, and data in supported areas. The initiative aims to strengthen coverage and service reliability in locations where Jio’s own network is limited. These packs automatically activate upon first usage—such as making a call, sending an SMS, or using data—and remain valid for 28 days.

How Jio’s ICR Service Works

Under the ICR arrangement, Jio users with eligible prepaid recharges can connect to BSNL’s network for essential services. Once recharged, these packs remain queued and activate during the first ICR-related activity. The service is currently limited to the MP & CG circle, with future expansions expected based on network readiness.

ICR Pack Details and Restrictions

  • ₹196 Pack – 1000 ICR voice minutes, 2 GB data, 1000 SMS, 28 days
  • ₹396 Pack – 1000 ICR voice minutes, 10 GB data, 1000 SMS, 28 days

ICR usage is valid only on BSNL’s network. Connections via other operators such as Airtel or Vi are not supported. In case of emergencies, customers may get temporary access using their main balance, but active ICR packs are mandatory for standard usage.

Availability and How to Recharge

Jio’s BSNL ICR packs are available to prepaid users in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, and can be purchased via the MyJio app, Jio website, or authorized retail stores. The move strengthens Jio’s rural and remote connectivity footprint, while leveraging BSNL’s network for enhanced reliability.

This strategic partnership showcases Jio’s continued focus on pan-India coverage and network resilience. By integrating BSNL’s infrastructure, Jio ensures users stay connected even in challenging terrains, reinforcing India’s broader goal of universal digital connectivity.
