HCLTech Enters AI Data Centre Business with ₹35 Billion Strategic Investment Through New Subsidiary

The company plans to invest up to ₹35 billion through a new subsidiary to establish AI data centres with an initial capacity of up to 50 MW. According to HCLTech, the initiative will leverage its expertise in AI data centre design, DevOps, AI cloud operations, and software solutions to deliver a fully integrated AI infrastructure platform. 

HCLTech has unveiled plans to expand into the end-to-end artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem, aiming to serve the increasing demand for AI-driven services and solutions across both government organisations and private enterprises.

According to the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, the new AI data centre initiative will be supported by an investment of up to ₹35 billion through a newly established HCLTech subsidiary. The project is expected to develop up to 50 megawatts of AI data centre capacity, with scope for future expansion.

He further stated that the new investment will build upon HCLTech’s existing strengths in AI data centre architecture, DevOps, AI cloud operations, and its software portfolio. Together, these capabilities are intended to create a fully integrated, end-to-end AI infrastructure offering, the company said in a regulatory filing.
