Hathway Cable & Datacom Ltd Data Leaked on Dark Web

In a concerning development for digital security, Hathway Cable & Datacom Limited, one of India’s leading broadband and cable TV service providers, has experienced a significant data breach. Our investigation reveals that an undisclosed number of customer records have been compromised and are now circulating on the dark web. This incident raises serious concerns regarding the cybersecurity protocols and measures implemented by Hathway Cable to safeguard personal information.

The breach has potentially exposed the personal and financial details of millions of Hathway users, including names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and possibly payment information. The detection of this breach was facilitated by the dark web monitoring service provided through a Google One subscription on March 1st, 2024. As a Google One subscriber, I received an email notification indicating “New dark web results.” Upon reviewing the email, it became apparent that personal information belonging to Hathway users had been leaked and made available on the dark web. As a former Hathway user, I am deeply concerned as my personal data, including my name, phone number, email address, address, and payment information, may now be compromised and accessible on the dark web.
