BSNL Revives Its Re 1 Recharge Plan with 24-Day Validity

Summary:
BSNL has relaunched its Re 1 prepaid First Recharge Coupon (FRC) for new SIM customers, offering 24 days of validity across India. The plan includes unlimited voice calls, 1GB daily data (24GB total) and 100 SMS per day, making the effective cost just Re 0.04 per day. The one-time offer is intended to attract new subscribers and expand BSNL’s 4G user base, after which customers must switch to regular prepaid plans to keep their SIM active.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), the government-owned telecom operator, has brought back its Re 1 prepaid plan for customers. The company has relaunched the offer as part of its efforts to attract new subscribers and expand its user base. This is a First Recharge Coupon (FRC), meaning it is available to customers purchasing a new BSNL SIM card. The plan provides 24 days of service validity and is available across India. Here is a closer look at what the BSNL Re 1 plan offers.

BSNL Re 1 Plan Benefits in India

The BSNL Re 1 plan provides 24 days of validity along with unlimited voice calling and 1GB of data every day, giving users a total of 24GB of data during the validity period. It also includes 100 SMS per day. The effective cost works out to just Re 0.04 per day. However, customers can use this FRC only once. To avail of the offer again, they would need to obtain another SIM card. After the initial recharge, users must choose from BSNL’s regular prepaid plans available across India to keep the SIM active.

BSNL has introduced this Re 1 offer several times in the past and has also withdrawn it on certain occasions. Customers interested in the plan need to obtain a BSNL SIM directly. A new SIM can be booked online or purchased by visiting the nearest BSNL office or an authorised retailer.

The offer is unusual compared with other plans available in India. BSNL is likely using the Re 1 recharge as a way to attract more subscribers and increase the number of users on its 4G network.
