State-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has officially revealed the name of its upcoming 5G services—BSNL Q-5G, branded as Quantum 5G—via a post on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle. The name was chosen through a public naming campaign launched by the company, aimed at involving citizens in the lead-up to its 5G rollout. BSNL plans to launch 5G services once its 4G network stabilisation is complete.

BSNL’s  Vision for Quantum 5G FWA Service

The 5G FWA offering is aimed at delivering high-speed broadband connectivity using next-generation wireless infrastructure, targeting areas where traditional wired connections are not feasible. With the branding now in place and pilot services underway, BSNL is positioning Quantum 5G as a key pillar in its digital transformation journey and its ongoing efforts to bridge the rural-urban connectivity gap.
