2. 17 Lakhs New Connection For BSNL in July BSNL AP 4G Rollout in Progress

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) added 2.17 lakh new connections in Andhra Pradesh during July, bringing the total number of connections to 40 lakh, according to a report shared by BSNL Andhra Pradesh on platform X (formerly Twitter). This surge in new connections follows private telecom operators revising tariffs in July 2024. Notably, BSNL AP achieved a milestone of 1 lakh SIM activations within just 23 days in the last week of July. 

BSNL 4G Launch in Andhra Pradesh 

BSNL is set to launch 4G services in major cities of Andhra Pradesh starting August 15. As BSNL rolls out 4G technology, interest in new mobile connections (SIM cards) from BSNL has increased. The company is also organizing special camps to help users upgrade their SIM cards from 2G to 4G and facilitate users in upgrading their SIM cards from 2G to 4G. 

Network Expansion in Tribal and Remote Areas 

BSNL aims to activate 4G services across the state by the end of September, with antennas, base transceiver stations (BTS), and core network infrastructure currently under development. BSNL AP is also expanding its network to remote tribal areas, setting up 1,200 new towers in various villages. According to officials, BSNL services will be available in the villages of Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, East Godavari, Kurnool, and other districts by the end of the month. 

Popular Recharge Plan Among New Users 

Among the new activations, 90 percent of users are opting for the Rs 249 recharge plan. This plan offers 45 days of validity, 2GB of data per day, unlimited calls, and 100 SMS per day. BSNL AP users can expect 4G services across the state by the end of September, provided the network is deployed in their area and they have a compatible 4G SIM and handset.
