BSNL International Roaming Plans- Users Can Use Without SIM Change

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Kerala circle has announced that its customers can now access international roaming in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) without needing to change their SIM cards. This service is available for both prepaid and postpaid customers of the state-run telecom operator in Kerala, thanks to BSNL’s partnership with UAE-based telecom operator Etisalat.

However, BSNL clarified that this benefit is exclusive to Kerala customers. Subscribers in other licensed service areas (LSAs) should confirm availability before relying on this service.

International Roaming Tariff Plans

BSNL offers two international roaming (IR) special tariff vouchers (STVs) for customers traveling to the UAE:

₹57 Plan: Valid for 30 days.

₹167 Plan: Valid for 90 days.

Both plans enable activation and extension of BSNL prepaid mobile services, keeping users connected while abroad.

“Now BSNL Prepaid/Postpaid Enjoy International Roaming in UAE without changing existing SIM cards. Exclusively for customers in Kerala,” BSNL stated.

Reviving the BSNL Brand

BSNL is actively working to enhance its services and brand image as part of its revival strategy. With support from the government’s relief packages, the telco is in a stronger position to compete with private operators. However, challenges remain, as BSNL is still deploying its 4G network while private players are advancing towards completing their 5G rollouts.

This initiative marks a step forward in BSNL’s efforts to offer competitive services and regain customer trust in the evolving telecom market.
