The Andhra Pradesh government has cleared the allocation of more than 800 acres of land in Vizianagaram district to Reliance Industries Limited at a 25 per cent concessional rate for setting up a giga-scale artificial intelligence data centre along with a cable landing station (CLS). The proposed project is expected to involve an investment exceeding Rs 1.08 trillion.
The state’s IT secretary has instructed the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) and the Vizianagaram district administration to identify an additional land parcel suitable for the cable landing station infrastructure.
According to the government order, APIIC has earmarked land for the project in the villages of Polipalli, Bhogapuram West, and Bhogapuram East located in Vizianagaram district.
The state government has also sanctioned a customised package of financial and non-financial incentives for the Rs 18.4 trillion conglomerate. These benefits include subsidies, exemptions, reimbursements, waivers, discounts, and several other concessions aimed at facilitating the project’s development.
