ACT Expands OTT Bundles to Compete with Telcos in Home Broadband

ACT Fibernet, an internet service provider, is aiming to expand its footprint in tier-1 and tier-2 cities like Delhi, Ghaziabad, Salem, Trichy, and Ahmedabad by enhancing its network infrastructure, improving customer service, and competitively challenging major telecom players. With an ISP-Category A license, ACT Fibernet plans to compete aggressively against telcos offering OTT bundled services for fiber-to-home connections at competitive rates through strategic partnerships.

Karthik Ravi Karthik, Chief Marketing Officer at ACT Fibernet, highlighted their approach: “We provide differentiated offerings to our customers as per their needs. Customers seeking entertainment bundles can opt for our plans including 300+ TV channels, Netflix, Hotstar, Zee5, Sony, Sunnxt, and other OTT apps.”

Atria Convergence Technologies (ACT) has gained significant market share in South India and emerged as a leader in broadband service quality in Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad, surpassing major telcos like Airtel and Jio, according to OpenSignal’s latest findings. The company emphasizes providing superior products and service experiences to customers to garner higher market share. The revamp of its SuperApp with features such as ticketing, billing, installation, and engineer activity tracking has enhanced customer service, catering to 70% of its customer base.

ACT is particularly bullish on the online gaming sector, which has become a $3 billion industry in India, attributing its growth to superior network connectivity and affordable smartphones. Karthik noted the importance of low latency and ping rates for gamers, highlighting ACT’s partnerships with entities like Nodwin Gaming to offer dedicated connectivity at events like DreamHack India. The company has invested over Rs 100 crores in expanding data centers, network capacity, network security, and in-home Wi-Fi experience, resulting in a 60% reduction in customer complaints.

“We have invested in building point-to-point links between key cities, expanding data center capacities, securing our network through underground cables, and leveraging AI for optimal traffic management and proactive troubleshooting,” stated Karthik. These efforts have increased uptime, improved service excellence, and reduced calls per subscriber to support centers by over 60%, while also growing the subscriber base. According to the two-year state of internet report 2023 by ACT Fibernet, data consumption per user across ACT cities has increased by over 25%, exceeding 350 GB per month per customer, with downloads rising by more than 27%.
