Vodafone Idea Q3 Results News Vi Reports Net Loss of ₹6,609

Vodafone Idea (Vi) announced a net loss of ₹6,609 crore for the quarter ending December 31, 2024 (Q3FY25), compared to a net loss of ₹6,985.9 crore in the same period last year. Despite the loss, the telecom operator’s revenue from operations rose to ₹11,117 crore in Q3FY25, up from ₹10,673 crore in Q3FY24. 

Vi’s total subscriber base stood at 199.8 million, with an Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) of ₹163 as of December 31, 2024. The company highlighted its 4G expansion, stating that its 4G population coverage increased by approximately 41 million, reaching 1.07 billion by December 2024, compared to 1.03 billion in March 2024. Vi remains on track to achieve its 4G coverage target of 1.1 billion by March 2025 and aims to expand further to 1.2 billion, covering 90% of the population.  

The 4G subscriber base grew marginally to 126 million in Q3FY25, compared to 125.6 million in Q3FY24. Additionally, ARPU (excluding Machine-to-Machine or M2M revenue) improved to ₹173, up 4.7% QoQ from ₹166 in Q2FY25, driven by tariff hikes and customer upgrades.
