BharatNet Project News Tejas Networks Selected as Broadband Equipment Supplier

Tejas Networks has been chosen to supply critical broadband equipment, including GPON, OLT, ONT, and management systems, for the BharatNet-driven Last Mile Connectivity (LMC) project in Tamil Nadu. This initiative, led by TANFINET (Tamil Nadu FibreNet Corporation Limited), an SPV established by the Tamil Nadu government, is being implemented with Polycab as the Master System Integrator.   

The BharatNet LMC project aims to deliver affordable high-speed internet to 50,000 government institutions, schools, and Public Health Centres (PHCs) from BharatNet sites across gram panchayats, blocks, and districts.   

In addition, the infrastructure will support FTTH (Fiber to the Home) services in rural Tamil Nadu through collaborations with local cable operators and telecom providers. Arnob Roy, COO of Tejas Networks, expressed pride in being selected, emphasizing their advanced GPON/XGS-PON products’ role in domestic and international FTTH deployments.
