Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Telecom Excellence Award 2024

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India, has announced the invitation for online nominations for the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Telecom Excellence Award 2024. This award is open to Indian citizens and organizations/institutions registered in India or established by the Central/State governments or Union Territories. Nominations are also invited from: 

– Universities, Technical/Educational/Academic Institutions 

– Invest India under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry 

– Heads of recognized Telecom Industry Associations/Societies 

The Award Committee may also independently recommend individuals or institutions for the award, provided there is sufficient justification. Nominations can be submitted online at the National Award Portal by September 30, 2024. For detailed regulations, visit the official website. 

Award Details 

Each award consists of a shawl, citation, plaque, and a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh. A maximum of five awards may be presented annually, subject to the selection of suitable candidates by the Award Committee. 

Eligibility 

All Indian citizens, as well as organizations and institutions registered in India or established by the Central/State governments or Union Territories, are eligible. The awards recognize contributions and work done in India over the last three years. There is no age limit, as excellence is the key criterion. 

Objectives of the Awards 

The Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Telecom Excellence Awards aim to promote innovation and excellence in India’s telecom sector. The awards recognize individuals and institutions for their outstanding contributions in telecom innovations, skilling, services, and sectoral solutions for agriculture, commerce, health, education, and more. 

These awards aim to foster a culture of innovation, improve telecom infrastructure, and contribute to India’s overall growth. By recognizing exemplary work, the awards help build a skilled telecom workforce, drive technological advancements, and benefit critical sectors like education, healthcare, and agriculture.
