Airtel Data Breach 2024

Airtel India has vehemently denied allegations of a data breach that supposedly exposed the details of 375 million Airtel India users, which were purportedly put up for sale on the dark web.

Data Breach Allegations on Bharti Airtel

The alleged breach, said to have occurred in June 2024, reportedly includes detailed customer information updated until that month. The compromised data fields include mobile numbers, names, dates of birth, father’s names, local and permanent addresses, alternate numbers, email IDs, genders, nationalities, connection types, SIM activation dates, Aadhaar numbers, photo ID proofs, and address proof details. This extensive data set is allegedly being sold for USD 50,000 in XMR (Monero).

Screenshots posted by Dark Web Informer from a community called BreachForums show an account, purportedly linked to a data hacker, claiming to sell the latest Airtel India customer database. This seller also claims to be responsible for the recent data leak involving the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.
