S. Krishnan Talks About 6G Technology Potential in Bharat 6G 2024

During the Bharat 6G 2024 Conference in New Delhi, Electronics and IT Secretary S. Krishnan emphasized the transformative potential of 6G technology in bolstering the nation’s digital economy and enhancing productivity. Krishnan likened the anticipated growth in 6G technology to the profound impact of the first industrial revolution. He underscored that 6G advancements would stimulate extensive data generation, thereby offering superior inputs for Artificial Intelligence to evolve and enhance its capabilities. Krishnan urged industry leaders attending the conference to foster collaboration for the development of an improved digital infrastructure.

What is the Goal of Bharat 6G 2024 Event?

India has been actively engaged in advancing 6G technology and has played a pivotal role in shaping the framework for 6G as recently finalized by the International Telecommunication Union, a UN Telecom agency. Efforts led by the Department of Telecommunications have notably influenced the incorporation of connectivity, intelligence, and sustainability aspects into 6G technology. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the Bharat 6G Mission manifesto, aiming to position India as a leading provider of advanced telecom solutions. This mission emphasizes collaboration among government bodies, industry stakeholders, and academia, with plans for pilot-scale demonstrations and field trials across diverse use cases to contribute to national and global standards, beginning around 2025.

India’s proficiency in technological innovation positions it as a key player in the 6G landscape. With a thriving tech ecosystem, the nation holds significant potential to contribute to the development and deployment of 6G technologies. However, international collaboration is essential for India’s 6G journey. Partnerships with global entities, academia, and research institutions will expedite innovation and establish India as a collaborative force in shaping the future of communication.

The potential impact of 6G is profound, as it promises to redefine human interactions, machine communications, and data exchanges. Leveraging AI/ML and exploring quantum technologies will be critical for driving innovation across sectors such as education, agriculture, and healthcare. Establishing a seamlessly integrated optical and wireless network, with a focus on rural connectivity, is imperative. India’s proactive approach to 6G technology development positions the country as a frontrunner in the global arena. With the Indian government’s initiatives in mind, Bharat Exhibitions is delighted to present the 2nd edition of the Bharat 6G 2024 International Conference & Exhibition, scheduled for May 15, 2024, at Hotel Le-Meridien in New Delhi.
