120 Devices Can be Connected to Jio AirFiber

Reliance Jio’s Fixed-Wireless Access (FWA) service, Jio AirFiber, is now available in 6,956 towns and cities across India. The telecom giant is actively working to expand this service to every location where its 5G network is currently available. Jio AirFiber allows users to connect up to 120 devices via its Wi-Fi connection. While no minimum speed requirement for connecting 120 devices has been specified, it is assumed that even the 30 Mbps plan can support this capability.

Jio has noted, “Please note that your internet speed will be distributed depending on the number of connected devices.” For optimal performance when connecting numerous devices, plans offering 500 Mbps or 1 Gbps are recommended. These high-speed plans also include a variety of OTT (over-the-top) benefits for consumers.

The network speed for Jio AirFiber will not be impacted by increased usage on its mobile networks, as the company has established a separate network slice on its 5G standalone architecture specifically for FWA services.

While initial reviews suggest that fiber connections are superior to AirFiber, Jio AirFiber is an excellent alternative in areas where fiber connections are unavailable, providing high-speed internet access through FWA technology. Additionally, Jio AirFiber includes a Jio Set-Top Box (STB) to meet the entertainment needs of customers, offering live TV channels and content from over 15 OTT services.
