Reliance Jio and OnePlus Ties Up for 5G Innovation Lab in India

Reliance Jio, one of India’s leading telecom companies, and OnePlus, a prominent smartphone manufacturer, have joined forces to establish a 5G Innovation Lab in India. The primary objective of this lab is to foster innovation by creating and testing new technologies aimed at enhancing user experiences. This collaboration represents a strategic partnership aimed at unleashing the full potential of 5G technology in India, as highlighted by both companies.

Jio has been rapidly deploying 5G technology across India, with the distinction of being the sole telecom operator to implement 5G SA (Standalone Architecture) in the country. The alliance between OnePlus and Jio is poised to deliver futuristic and enriched connectivity experiences to consumers. A seamless interaction between the software and hardware integrated into a smartphone and the mobile infrastructure of a telecom service provider (TSP) is essential for an optimal 5G experience.

This collaboration will empower OnePlus to refine its technology to synergize better with mobile networks. Jio boasts the largest 5G network footprint in the country, having rolled out 85% of the overall 5G infrastructure. OnePlus recently introduced the OnePlus 12 5G series, assuring users of exceptional 5G download speeds and battery performance with the new devices.

A spokesperson from OnePlus expressed, “We are committed to pushing the boundaries of what is achievable, and our partnership with Jio underscores that commitment. This collaboration represents a bold leap towards the future of connectivity, where innovation knows no limits. Together, Jio and OnePlus India aim to redefine the 5G landscape in the country, offering users a glimpse into the limitless possibilities ahead.”

Jio’s spokesperson emphasized, “Jio has spearheaded 85% of the entire 5G deployment in India. It is time to unveil extraordinary 5G experiences for our users, and this partnership with OnePlus marks a significant step in that direction. In the coming months, our users can anticipate superior gaming, streaming, and overall usage experiences with 5G.
