Airtel Accidental Insurance Recharge Plan for Prepaid Customers

Airtel Accidental Insurance Recharge Plan for Prepaid Customers

Bharti Airtel, India’s second-largest telecom operator, is now offering accidental insurance with three of its prepaid plans. These are not new plans; instead, the insurance benefit has been added to them. The plans, priced at Rs 239, Rs 399, and Rs 969, have been available for some time and now come bundled with insurance coverage in partnership with ICICI Lombard. These plans are accessible to customers across all telecom circles.

Bharti Airtel’s Insurance-Backed Prepaid Plans

The Rs 239 prepaid plan includes unlimited voice calling, 2GB of daily data, and 100 SMS per day for 28 days. Additionally, users receive accidental insurance coverage of Rs 1 lakh in case of accidental death and Rs 25,000 for accident-related hospitalization for 30 days.

The Rs 399 plan offers similar benefits but with 3GB of daily data instead. The Rs 969 plan, on the other hand, provides 1.5GB of daily data, unlimited calling, and 100 SMS per day for 84 days. The insurance coverage for this plan extends for 90 days, whereas the Rs 239 and Rs 399 plans offer coverage for 30 days. Some of these plans also include unlimited 5G access where available.

The insurance policy does not activate immediately upon recharge. Instead, it becomes effective at 12 AM the next day (T+1 day). If a user has multiple Airtel SIM cards recharged with eligible plans, they can claim a maximum insurance amount of Rs 5,00,000 under this offer.

Bharti Airtel is currently the only telecom operator in India offering insurance benefits bundled with prepaid plans, setting itself apart in the industry.
