Airtel Ericsson Multi-Year Deal Done for NOC Services

Bharti Airtel has entered into a multi-year agreement with Ericsson to manage its Network Operations Center (NOC) services. Announced on June 9, 2025, the strategic collaboration aims to strengthen Airtel’s network operations across the country while advancing next-generation technologies.

In a joint statement, Airtel emphasized that the partnership highlights Ericsson’s global leadership in managed services and its commitment to delivering enhanced value to Airtel’s customer base.

Advanced Tech Focus: FWA & Network Slicing

As part of the agreement, Ericsson will implement intent-based operations from its centralized NOC to oversee Airtel’s network across:

  • 4G
  • 5G NSA and SA
  • Private Networks
  • Network Slicing

This pan-India scope is designed to bring operational scale and efficiency, especially in emerging segments like FWA and slicing, which are pivotal for next-gen connectivity and enterprise use cases.

Randeep Sekhon, CTO of Bharti Airtel, stated: “We are thrilled to deepen our partnership with Ericsson as we work toward building a future-ready network. These advanced technologies will help us meet India’s growing data needs and deliver an exceptional digital experience to our customers.”

Ericsson: Enabling Diversification and Growth

Andres Vicente, Head of Market Area Southeast Asia, Oceania, and India at Ericsson, remarked “Through Intent-Based NOC Operations, we aim to help Airtel diversify its service offerings and unlock new revenue streams by addressing evolving customer demands.”

A Continuation of a Long-Standing Partnership

This agreement builds on the companies’ recent collaboration on Airtel’s 5G Core, reinforcing a 25+ year relationship that has spanned multiple generations of mobile technology. The deal marks another milestone in Airtel and Ericsson’s joint mission to drive innovation and network excellence in India’s fast-evolving digital landscape.
