The year 2024 has firmly positioned India as a global leader in 5G, with rapid deployments achieving over 90% 5G coverage nationwide. This transformative technology is driving innovation across sectors such as healthcare, education, and manufacturing, powered by advancements in IoT, AR/VR, and AI-driven solutions.  

India’s 5G Progress and Impact 

  • 5G Adoption: According to the Ericsson Mobility Report, India’s 5G subscriptions are set to surpass 270 million, reflecting the country’s commitment to digital inclusion.  
  • Data Consumption Leadership: India leads globally in data usage, with average monthly consumption at 32 GB per user. This is projected to more than double to 66 GB by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 13%.  
  • Generative AI Influence: AI is a significant growth driver, with 21% of Indian users engaging with over four AI-driven applications, far surpassing the 8% in the U.S. This trend boosts mobile traffic and fosters innovation.
