Globalstar Receives 15-Year FCC Authorization Renewal for Satellite Operations

Globalstar announced that the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has granted a 15-year renewal of its authorization for GUSA Licensee LLC to operate a variety of mobile earth terminals with its U.S. and French-licensed NGSO satellites across the United States and its territories.

This reauthorization allows Globalstar to expand its ancillary terrestrial network footprint and continue supporting millions of users who depend on its critical direct-to-device connectivity services.

Paul E. Jacobs, CEO of Globalstar, expressed gratitude for the FCC’s decision, stating “We appreciate the ongoing confidence the FCC is placing in Globalstar with the licensing renewal for our existing mobile satellite system. Having secured both this renewal and the HIBLEO-4 system renewal in August, the reauthorization of our current mobile satellite system is complete.

Moving forward, we are focused on expanding and evolving our system through substantial additional investments recently announced”. This milestone reaffirms Globalstar’s commitment to advancing its mobile satellite services and infrastructure.
