More on BSNL SIM Card Home Delivery

eSIM Will Change the Mobile Market

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has started home delivery of SIM cards to its customers, though this service is currently limited to Gurugram and Ghaziabad. This service is available for prepaid connections, and customers can order a SIM card by visiting their website.

BSNL has partnered with Prune to provide this service, aligning with the practices of private telecom operators. Customers can choose from various plans, enter their personal details (phone number and delivery address), and have the SIM card delivered to their home.

How SIM Delivery will Help BSNL?

BSNL has been losing customers consistently over the past several years, not due to a lack of SIM delivery services, but because of inferior network services. To compete with private telecom operators, BSNL must prioritize deploying 4G networks across the country.

Once a robust 4G network is in place, services like home delivery of SIM cards will have a more significant impact. BSNL’s mobile services revenue for FY24 has dipped due to ongoing customer losses. Without the deployment of high-speed networks soon, it will be challenging for BSNL to achieve a turnaround.
